Best tips to crack CA exams

Chartered Accountant is one of the most prestigious designations granted to accountants over the world. Chartered Accountants work in various sectors of the economy, providing financial advice and managing finances of an organization or entity. In India, Chartered Accountant is one the most preferred professional career options.

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) conducts three examinations every year, of succeeding levels, namely, CA Foundation, CA Intermediate and CA Final. Once an aspirant clears these levels he/she is recognized as a CA.

These exams are one of the most hard exams to crack compared to other professional qualifications, but with thorough training and dedication, it is not impossible to become a CA.

Here are the top tips from us which will surely help you in cracking the exams.

  1. Know your ‘why’

This could be said to be the most important thing you have to figure out. Because if you get this right, there will be nothing stopping you.

Why do you want to be a CA? What is your motivation? How much effort are you willing to put in order to succeed?

Knowing why you want to study CA will keep you on the right track throughout your journey. Without having a goal, without having some sort of motivation behind it, it will be very easy to give up and lose focus.

Cracking CA exams without a goal is not possible. So think about why you want to study CA and keep that reason in your sight.

  1. Study and practice everyday

As is commonly known, CA exams are difficult to pass and the syllabus is vast. Practicing everyday will hone your skills and keep the concepts fresh in your mind.

It will help you before examinations, when the only thing you will have to do is revise and attempt mock tests. Consistent effort is a must while preparing for CA exams; it is the ultimate key to success.

  1. Study with the aim to gain conceptual clarity

This is very important. Clearing CA exams is the key to becoming a CA, but while studying, it is important to study with the goal to understand topics and not just to pass the exams. Because  if your concepts are clear, you won’t face issues clearing the examination.

Mugging up answers or rote learning is not an ideal option for studying CA. Understand the concepts while they are taught and practice thoroughly to retain them in your mind.

At A.T. Academy, we pay special attention to this, making sure our students have clear knowledge of all concepts.

  1. Choose the right mentors

It is important that you select the right mentor to guide you along the path to becoming a CA. Your mentor plays a significant role in not only ensuring your success but in also shaping your mind.

The right tutor, someone with first-hand experience in the industry, can do wonders for your CA preparation, from making concepts easy to understand to helping with doubts. So, make sure to opt for the right tutor for yourself.

  1. Attempt several mock exams

Mock exams help in getting you in the examination mindset and hone your skills; so that when you have to attempt the actual exams, you are thoroughly prepared.

Make sure you attempt mock exams which cover a variety of topics and concepts; this will ensure that you have a grasp of all the important aspects of the syllabus.

  1. Take care of your health

Taking care of your mental, emotional and physical health is of prime importance while studying CA. Practicing a healthy lifestyle, keeping fit, consuming a balanced diet, etc. are small things which can give you huge benefits, not only for your CA preparation but your life in general.

  1. Avoid distractions

As mentioned in the first point, it is easy to lose focus and get distracted when you lose track of your ‘why’. Keep your goals in sight and it won’t be hard to let go of distractions.

However, it is human nature to get distracted every now and then. If you find your attention getting diverted, don’t be too hard on yourself. Just bring your goals back into focus and guide yourself back on the right path.
